6 major Greens with benefits and cooking methods

  Greens are ideal for weight management as they are typically low in calories. They are useful in reducing the risk of cancer and heart disease since they are low in fat, high in dietary fibre and rich in folic acid vitamin A and C, potassium and magnesium. Which is valuable for persons with type 2 diabetes. It has high vitamin K which is essential for bone health. Though taking greens everyday is a healthy habit, it should not be taken at night. Taking greens at night can lead of formation of gas in the stomach and other gastric inconveniences.

   
1. Sesbania grandiflora ( Agathi keerai):
    
     It will cleans your blood and taking this leaves daily can prevent weak bones in older ages and arthritis.
     Contispation, complication caused by drinking more cups of coffee and tea, feeling of burning in palms, heart and foot, body heat are controlled taking this greens at frequent intervals.

2. Amarenthus aritis( Arai kerai):

      The seeds and leaves of amaranthus have been found to be very effective in stopping diarrhea and hemorrhagic problems like excessive menstruation.
       It also rich in iron and vitamin A. Which helps to improvement of blood in the body. Regular intake will get more strength.

3. Alternanthera sessilis ( ponnangani):

      Regular intake will increases RBC, blood and increases the beauty of skin.
       These greens can boost the liver functionality. If you consume the plant together with white garlic, it can cures chronic constipation and piles problems.
        It will helps to cool your body and improves eye sight. Consumption of this plant leaves can increases the production of breast milk and also helps to reduce smelling in the body.

4. Moring oleifera ( murungai keerai):

     The morning oleifera reduces the sugar level in the blood, by eating this for 3 week to control your sugar level into normal.

5. Centella Asiatics ( valarai keerai) :

    These greens helps for hair, skin, stomach problems. By consuming these greens can treated the stomach upset, diarrhoea and indigestion problems.

6. Solanum nigram ( manathakalli keerai):

    It cures gastric problems in your body, ulcer problems, mouth ulcer and uterus problems for ladies. IR cures low memory, dry, coughs etc.

From above I'm mentioning the botanical name and in brackets I'm mentioned in Tamil names.
    
Common cooking methods for all the greens which are above mentioned:

Ingredients:

  Spinach - 1 bunch( washed & chopped finely)
   Dried chilli - 1
   Mustard - 1 tea spoon
   Urad dal - 1 tea spoon
   Oil - 1 tea spoon
   Curry leaves - 1 spring
    Shallots - 10 to 15 chopped finely
    Salt - to taste

Preparation method:

* place  pan in medium flame.
* add a tea spoon of oil and add mustard and urad dal.
* then add curry leaves and dried chilli.
* saute for a minute and add add shallots fry it till reaches translucent state.
* add greens which your selected from above and saute till it cooked well. Add salt to taste.
