Carrot kootu recipe/Carrot side dish

Hey friends....sorry for long break,hereafter I will post many recipes without any break so stay tuned...
                     
   
kootu is South Indian dish. Kootu is semi dry dish.It tastes good with rice,ghee rice. I made this with dal and coconut.

Preparation time:10mins
Cooking time:20mins
Serves:3 to 4

Ingredients:
  1. Carrot     1 and half cup finely chopped
  2. Toor dal 2tablespoon
  3. Moong dal 2tablespoon
  4. Onion 1medium sized finely chopped
  5. Green chilli 2finely chopped
  6. Curry leaves a spring
  7. Oil 1tablespoon
  8. Mustard 1/2teaspoon
  9. Urad dal 1/2teaspoon
Grinding:
  1. Coconut 1/4cup
  2. Cumin seeds 1teaspoon
Recipe:
Dry roast both dal in a kadai and add water along with turmeric powder.
Cook till dals turns mushy. In a mean while grind coconut and cumin to a paste.
Add oil in a kadai. Add mustard and urad dal,green chilli,curry leaves.
Add onion and saute till it translucent.
Add carrot and saute till raw smell leaves.
Add cooked dal along with its water.
Add in salt to taste.
Cook till water dries up also carrot cooked.
Add coconut paste and give a final stir.

Dry roast both dal in a kadai

Add water to it.

Now add in turmeric powder and cook till it turns mushy.

Take coconut and cumin in mixer.
Grind it to a paste.
Heat oil add in mustard.
Now add in urad dal.
Add green chilli and few curry leaves to it.
Add in onions and saute till it turns translucent.
Add carrots to it.
Saute till it leaves raw smell.

Add in cooked dal with its  water.

Add in salt to taste.

Cook till carrot gets cooked.
Now add in coconut paste and give a stir.
 
Serve it hot.
