Rava ladoo/Sooji ladoo using ghee

Sindhuraj     22:58:00     ladoo, snacks, sooji     No comments

Rava ladoos are my dad's favorite ladoos. He loves it a lot. I just tried last for Krishna jayanthi and forget to post this yet. Many of my friends asked me to post diwali sweets and snacks thought to share this easy sweet first and stay tuned for upcoming diwali sweets.

These lados ame out really good. I made it using ghee. Few people makes this using milk so I made that today and posting that as next post.

This is not only for diwali also great evening snacks for kids.

Hope you'll give it a try and love it also don't forget to share your experience.

Preparation time:5minutes
Cooking time:10minutes
Makes: 15 to 17 ladoos

Ingredients:

Fine sooji/rava 1cup
Sugar 1/2 cup+ 3tablespoon
Ghee 1/4cup
Cardamom 2pods
Cashews 1tablespoon broken
raisins 1tablespoon

Method:

Heat a tablespoon of ghee add cashews toast till golden. Set aside.
In same ghee add raisins till it bubbles up. Set aside.
In remaining ghee roast sooji in low medium flame for 5minutes.
Take this directly to mixing bowl else you can also blend it along sugar. I blend it for even mixing. If you take this directly to mixing bowl then powder the sugar separately and add it along sooji and give good mix. The choice is yours.
Now add everything to mixing bowl and shape into ladoos. It's bit tough job to shape it than milk version.
It has longer shelf life compared to milk version also crispy than it.
It keeps good for 5days or a week if you stored it in airtight container.

Stepwise pictures:

Heat a tablespoon of ghee add in cashews and roast it till it turns golden. Set aside.

In the same ghee add raisins till it bubbles up. Set aside.

In the remaining ghee add sooji and roast it in low medium flame for 5minutes.

Take this in a blender.

Add in sugar.

Add in cardamom.

Powder it coarsely.

In a mixing bowl, add roasted cashews and raisins.

Add in powdered mixture.

Add remaining melted ghee and shape it into ladoos.Store it in airtight container.

 Enjoy your snacks time...

Stay tuned for upcoming recipes. Bye bye
