Dal veggie soup for kids

Sindhuraj     15:15:00     dal, Kitchen Special, soup     No comments

As winter arrives I started giving soups in evening for my daughter. Yesterday evening I gave dal veggie soup dhe loved it so want to share this recipe with you.

You can add any seasonal veggies to this soup. I added carrot, beans, potatoes also dal. It tastes great.

Hope you'll love it and give it a try also don't forget to share your experience with me. Feel free to comment.

Preparation time:5minutes
Cooking time:10-15minutes
Serves:2

Ingredients:
  • Moong dal 3tablespoon
  • Carrot 1/2chopped
  • Beans 2-3 chopped
  • Potato 1/2chopped
  • Garlic 1big clove
  • Salt a pinch
  • Cumin powder a pinch
  • Pepper powder a pinch

Method:

Wash dal and take it in pressure cooker and add in all veggies and cook for 3 whistle with a cup of water.
Let the steam go by itself. Either mash it or puree it in a blender.
In the same pressure cooker, add in a teaspoon of give and add blended puree and add in salt, pepper powder, jeera powder.
Serve to your kids.
Consistency is purely depends on you.

Stepwise pictures:
Take all your ingredients for pressure cooking.
Wash dal and take dal and veggies also garlic in pressure cooker.

Add in a cup of water. Pressure cook it for 3whistle.
See everything gets cooked well.
Take this in blender. I reserved some vegetable stack.
Blend it to puree.
In same pressure cooker, add in a teaspoon of ghee.
Add in puree.

Add in salt.
Add in pepper powder and cumin powder and mix it well.
Serve it in evening for your kids.

Notes:

If you're going to give this for kids above 2 years, you can mash it instead of blending.
If you need clear soup for younger babies, strain it using strainer.
No salt for kids below 1year.
Give this only after you introduce all the veggies separately and didn't find any allergies.
Both pepper powder and cumin powder are optional.
Before introducing new foods consult your paediatrician.

Stay tuned for upcoming recipes. Bye bye.
