Spicy cookies/khara cookies

I am here with perfect tea time cookies. Savoury cookies/Indian spice cookies is one of my favourite cookies. This is quite different from other cookies. 

I made this cookies last week. I was in a mood of baking cookies,cup cakes. Made 2 more cookies and muffins those recipes are on the way so stay tuned.

Preparation time:10 minutes
Baking time:25-20minutes
Makes:18cookies

Ingredients:

  • All purpose flour/maida 1cup
  • Whole wheat flour 1/2cup
  • Whole Jeera/Cumin 2teaspoon
  • Whole Sesame seeds 2tablespoon
  • Coarse pepper powder 2teaspoon
  • Sugar 2tablespoon
  • Salt 1/2teaspoon
  • Ghee/Butter 1/2cup

Method:

Preheat pressure cooker in high flame for 10minutes.For more details click here.
In a mixing bowl,add in both flours,cumin,sesame,pepper powder,salt and mix it well and set aside.
In an another mixing bowl,add in melted ghee/butter and add in sugar cream it well and add in dry ingredients and combine them into a dough.
Roll it into a ball and flatten it using palm and arrange it in a greased pan/plate. Bake this in a preheated cooker for 15-20minutes or till the base of cookies turn golden brown. Allow it to cool.
Have it as tea time snacks.

In a mixing bowl, add in all purpose flour.
Add in whole wheat flour.
Add in salt.
Add in cumin.
Add in crushed pepper powder.
Add in sesame seeds.
Mix it well and set aside.
In a bowl,add in melted ghee/butter.

Add in sugar. I powdered regular sugar and used here.
Mix it well.
Add in dry ingredients.
Combine them into a dough.
Roll a tablespoon of dough  and flatten it using your palm and arrange it in oil greased pan/plate.

Bake this in preheated pressure cooker for 15-20minutes.
Or bake till the base of cookies turns golden brown. Allow it to cool.
Have it as a tea time snacks.

Notes:

  • If your dough is too dry,add in a tablespoon of milk. I didn't use it as my dough is not dry.
  • I used white sesame seeds. You can also use black sesame seeds.
  • I used homemade ghee. You can also use butter,vegetable oil.
  • I used freshly crushed pepper. You can use store bought coarse pepper powder.
