Aval murukku/poha murukku

Hey I made this aval murukku for krishna jayanthi. Today went to flour mill to grind murukku maavu for this diwali only then I remembered already one murukku recipe is in my drafts for a long time.


Also my friends requested for diwali snacks recipe. I am just clearing my drafts now for this diwali. Rava ladoos,Aval murukku,Vella seedai,milagu thattai made for krishna jayanthi. All those recipes were lying in drafts now all comes one by one.

Coming to this recipe, this is easy recipe which can be done within 20 minutes. Also taste just awesome.

Cooking time:15minutes
Makes:15

Ingredients:

Aval/Poha 1/2cup
Rice flour/pacharisi maavu 1cup
Roasted gram/pottu kadalai 1/4cup
Butter/ghee 1tablespoon
Cumin seeds/jeera/seeragam 1/2teaspoon
Red chilli powder 1/2teaspoon
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying

Method:

In a mixer jar add in poha and roaster gram. powder it and sieve them to fine powder .
In a mixing bowl,add in rice flour,s ieved mixture,jeera,chilli powder and salt. Mix it well.
Add in melted ghee and mix well.
Add in water little by little to form a non sticky dough.
Take your murukku pressing select any disc you like.
Start pressing and deep fry it till golden brown and flip it over and fry it till golden brown.
Repeat this till your dough gets over.
Store this in airtight container.

Stepwise pictures:

Take poha in a mixer jar.

Add in roasted gram.

Powder it.

Sieve it to fine powder.

In a mixing bowl,add in rice flour.

Add in sieved mixture.

Add in jeera.

Add in red chilli powder.

Add in salt and mix it well.

Add in melted ghee.

Give a good mix.

Add water little by little to form a non sticky dough.

Take muruku press and your favourite disc.

Start pressing on the back of laddle

 Deep fry it in hot oil.

Deep fry it till golden brown and flip it over and fry it till golden brown. Drain the excess oil in tissue paper.

Repeat this till your dough gets over.

Store this in airtight container.
