Sindhuraj     23:48:00     besan flour, ghee, sweet     No comments

Happy diwali to all my lovely viewers. Mysorepak is my favourite sweet so wanted to share this today. It needs only 4 ingredients.

I had made a big batch for this diwali so posting those photos here but mentioned only a small batch so it helps for most of them.

Hope you will love it and give it a try also don't forget to share your experience with me.

Preparation time:5minutes
Cooking time:20-25minutes
Makes:20 bars

Ingredients:

Besan flour/Gram flour/kadalai maavu 1cup
Sugar 2cup
Water 1cup
Oil 1.5cup
Ghee 1cup

Method:

In a heavy bottomed kadai, add in sugar and water. Heat it up till it reaches 1 string consistency.
Add in besan flour and mix well to avoid lumps formation.
Stir it often once it starts to become a whole mass add in ghee oil mixture 1/4cup at once and stir it well.
Within few minutes all oil and ghee gets absorbed again add in oil, ghee mixture.
Repeat this till oil gets over.
You can see little foams and whole mixture starts to leave its sides at this stage switch off the flame and transfer this to greased plate or bowl.
Allow it to cool completely and cut into desired shape.
Enjoy your diwali.

Stepwise pictures:
Add ghee and oil together in a bowl and heat it up and set aside.

In a heavy bottomed pan,add in sugar and water and heat it up.
Cook till it reaches 1 string consistency.
Add in gram flour.
Stir it well to avoid lumps formation.
It will become pretty thick.

Add in 1/2cup oil,ghee mixture.
It will absorb oil and you can see it's drying again add in 1/2cup of oil, ghee mixture.
Again it will thicken repeat this till oil, ghee mixture gets over.
At one stage you can see the foam and the mixture starts to leave its sides.
Switch off the flame and transfer this to greased plate/bowl.

Allow it to completely and cut it to your desired shapes.

See how it came smoothly.

See how it came clear and perfect diamond shaped mysorepak.

See how smooth the sides as well.
Have a sweet diwali... you'll love it for sure.

Stay tuned for upcoming recipes. Bye bye.
