One of my best friend swathi requested me to post this thattu vada set recipe. I don't know what it was before so surfed through net and get to know its none other than thattai. Thattu vadai set is not only thattai its a chat using thattai.
This thattu vada set is famous in salem. As I don't know how it would taste I made it with lots of doubts but at last it tastes just awesome.
So without any delay I posting it for my friend swathi. Hope you will love it and give it a try also don't forget to share your experience with me.

Ingredients:
Salad:
- Beetroot 1/4cup grated
- Onion 1medium sized chopped finely
- Carrot 1/4cup grated
- Coriander leaves few
- Salt to taste
- Oil few drops
Green chutney:
- Mint leaves 1/4cup
- Coriander leaves 1/4cup
- Green chilli 1
- Sugar a pinch
- Lemon juice few drops
- Oil 1 teaspoon
Red chutney:
- Onion 1chopped roughly
- Tomato 1chopped roughly
- Garlic 2clove
- Salt to taste
- Red chilli 1
- Tamarind small piece
- Oil 1teaspoon
Method:
In a small kadai add in oil,coriander leaves,mint leaves,green chilli and saute it. Add this to mixer jar and add in a pinch of sugar and few drops of lemon juice. Grind it to chutney. Set aside.
In same kadai add in oil,onion,tomato,garlic,red chilli saute till it turns mushy. Add this to mixer jar. Add in salt and tamarind and grind it to chutney. Set aside.
In a mixing bowl,add in grated beetroot and carrot,finely chopped Onion,salt,few drops oil and mix it well. Set aside.
Now it's time to arrange.
Spread green chutney in a thattai/thaaru vadai and spread red chutney in another thattai/thattu vadai.
Sprinkle beetroot,carrot mix all over any of thattai/thattu vadai.
Place another thattai/thattu vadai over it like sandwich.
Serve immediately.

Add in tomato,onion,garlic,red chilli. Saute it till it turns mushy.
Add this to mixer jar.
Add in salt.
Add in tamarind.
Grind it to chutney and set aside.
In a mixing bowl,add in grated beetroot.
Add in grated carrot.
Add in finely chopped Onion.
Add in coriander leaves.
Add in salt.
Add few drops of oil.
Mix well and set aside.
Now it's time to arrange. Get ready with your ingredients.
Spread green chutney in a thattai and spread red chutney in another thattai.
Sprinkle beetroot,carrot mix over any of thattai.
Place another thattai over it as sandwich.
Serve immediately.
Notes:
- Arrange thattu vadai set only when you are going to eat else it will become soggy.
- You can also use store bought thattai.
